Aptly named ‘Ilha Dourada’, meaning ‘Golden Island’, Porto Santo is one of Europe’s last unspoilt gems.
It measures approximately 14 km in length by 4 km in width, but offers 9 km of breathtaking golden sand beaches. The warm climate is the other surprise, with temperatures varying little from the average of 22ºC all year round.

Recent improvements in infrastructure have been accompanied by strict planning regulations, to ensure that over-development does not occur.

Its proximity to mainland Europe (only a 4 hour flight from London) makes it ideal as a holiday home destination.
