Ribeira Brava is located approximately 15 km to the West of Funchal on the South Coast of the Island, at the end of the first motorway east out of Funchal. It has enjoyed numerous infrastructure improvements in recent years, including new sea access, a renovated beach area, and the development of a good number and variety of shopping facilities. This development has retained the quaint country feel of the villages that make up the area, and also offers beautiful mountain and levada walks. Westwards you find some of the most typical sea-side villages on the island. It enjoys a fabulous microclimate, protected as it is by the majestic valley, with abundant sunshine and mild temperatures all year round.
The motorway provides easy access to São Vicente on the north coast of Madeira (15 min), Funchal (15 min), the airport (30 min) and site for the new 18-hole golf course in Ponta do Pargo (30 min). |
