Ponta do Sol enjoys a privileged location on the south coast of Madeira (to the west of Funchal). It offers quick and easy access to the city of Funchal, thanks to the new motorways, while retaining the quaint country feel of the villages that make up the area. This area also offers beautiful mountain and levada walks, and westwards you find some of the most typical sea-side villages on the island. It enjoys one the best microclimates in Madeira, with abundant sunshine and mild temperatures all year round.
